String quartets of talented and experienced musicians, who leave a lasting impression.
To accomplish an excellent performance, not only does experience and technical skill count – rather counts the dedication to the music, the sensitivity into the music piece and the harmonious collaboration. The musicians for our string quartets have studied at some of the best conservatoires and enjoy, in addition to the concerts in the St. Anne church, a busy schedule in different orchestras in Vienna and all over Europe.
Our musicians relished the opportunity to acquire skills from well-known teachers. Their Mentors like Prof. Michael Frischenschlager, Hans Peter Ochsenhofer and others, stand with their names for high quality and love for music. Participation in numerous festivals, including the Tyrolean and the Bregenzer Festspiele are proof for these skills. Even star conductors like Daniel Barenboim und Franz Welser-Möst value the talent and the musicianship of the musicians in our string quartets. Not least, they are winners of national and international competitions throughout Europe.
The Aeon quartet
Since spring 2015, the repertoire of the Aeon quartet is part of our musical program. The diversified program of the String Quartet comprises interpretations from Classics to early Romanticism. The four musicians, originating from Austria and Portugal, are graduates of the Conservatory and the Music University of Vienna. The artists have gained years of chamber music experience both at home and abroad and moreover, they are laureates of several competitions.
